Paris, Las Vegas!!

During our recent trip to Vegas we were lucky enough to at the Paris! It was such a beautiful hotel. I'm sure my eyes were like huge saucers when we walked in. And the Eiffel Tower was fantastic!! We rode up to the top and the view was AMAZING!!!!!! but feeling it sway, was not so much. But definitely worth the $10 we spent, thanks to a two for one coupon! BONUS!

Me in front of the fountain, so cool, and the weather wasn't too shabby either! 50 degree was so blissful compared to the snow at home.

The Eiffel Tower was beautiful even during the day. and I just loved that fountain!
Before we left for Vegas, JT had heard about this trick called "the Sandwich" and there was even an entire website dedicated to this. What it is, is this: when you check into the Paris, you hand the person behind the desk your credit card and your ID with a $20 bill sandwiched in between. Then you ask for a free complimentary upgrade. And believe me, I had no faith in this actually working, but it did! We got upgraded to a Red Room, which usually go for $250 a night! but we got it for free! So I was wrong, and JT got to gloat the whole trip about his awesome "sandwich."

and the flight was delayed

So for a special treat for JT's birthday and just a mid winter getaway, we booked a fantastic trip to Las Vegas! We booked our trip through Allegiant Air. Which was awesome, because we got one airfare free, when we booked our trip! Great special and bonus for us!!! And so the day arrived for our flight to depart. I should have known something would go wrong. JT woke up and FREAKED out when he checked the airport website and our flight wasn't listed. After I logged into my email, and he found our flight, he calmed down. And we began packing, please no snide comments about our waiting until day of departure to pack, we clean house, and are all ready to go! When we got the airport we were informed our 8:40 flight was delayed until at least 10:30. So we decide to head home, and wait it out there. Well, we were home for all of a half and hour when JT discovered another passenger's boarding pass was stuck to the back of his. So we drive back to the airport and find out that they had already taken care of it. Meaning, we cam early for nothing. Well, shortly after that they start letting people through security, and within minutes of our passing through the security gate, The Announcer says, attention travelers, the Allegiant Air Plane will be delayed until 11. Meaning we won't even board until 11:30. So here we sit, waiting 2 1/2 hours for our plane. Wish me luck, patience while waiting is NOT my strong suit. Oh, the joys of Vacation!

Top 2009 Moments

I'm totally stealing this idea from Nienie, but its a great one! Its a top ten of moments with her husband in 2009. a terrific idea!! so here is my top ten of My FANTASTIC hubby. I'm not sure they all qualify as 2009 moments, but hey, its the thought, right?

10. When he does the dishes and cleans the kitchen, while I get ready for bed. I wake up and our kitchen is sparkly and so nice and clean!! It makes me want to cook, and mess it up again.

9. Back rubs before bed- JT loves backrubs, and honestly, I love giving him one. Almost every night, we lay in bed watching some cheesy girl show, and he gets a back rub. And watches, what I want, without complaint! Total bonus!!

8. Breakfast for dinner- His absolute favorite thing, I wish I enjoyed it more, so he could have it more, but at least he's super grateful when he gets it.

7. Time and all eternity- Let me explain. After we were sealed, the Temple Sealer had us stand and look in the mirrors. One is supposed to see continous reflections of themselves, without end, like eternity. Well I don' t. and I'm okay with that. Because when we looked in the mirror, at that moment, I saw a perfect eternity. Me and JT side by side.

6. Surprising him on Christmas- he got multiple surprises, but Beatles Rockband was the best!! I won't share the whole story now, but it was priceless!! He had no clue, and I was so proud that I GOT HIM!!

5. My Ipod- I really wanted a new ipod for Christmas, which my ever so sweet husband, bought. But, he also put all of my music on it, so it was all ready for me! Now I have my tunes with me wherever I go.

4. Going to the temple- Since our first time, JT has loved the temple, not that I don't, but his love and reference for it, inspires me.

3. His pouty face- JT hates to be tickled, and his reaction, I LOVE! Nothing will make me laugh faster. I'm sure it annoys him, but he laughs with me, as I drive him batty!! what a great sport!!

2. He pretends to be interested in things, I honestly know he cares nothing about, and I love it!! He lets me drone on and on and patiently listens, and pretends to care. Now anyone who knows me, knows how much I can talk, well as much as I talk, he listens. Just what I need.

1. Text Messages that read- I LOVE YOU. As many people know, my darling husband hates talking on the phone, but will text message for hours. It took me a while to get used to it, but now, its our main form of communication. and most days I get multiple texts that simply read, I LOVE YOU! It is seriously the best part of my day!!!

I am so blessed and grateful to have married my best friend. We joke that no one else would put up with me, but he does, and makes me so happy! I'm such a lucky girl!

Christmas Joy!

Christmas is our second favorite holiday. JT is working on creating a giant Christmas village. This year, we spread it out along the top of our entertainment center. It's so cute!! Most of the things light up and cast a very christmas-y glow.

I have to admit that we put up our tree on Thanksgiving night. I love it!! Although it is a pre-lit fake one, thats a touch too bright for our small apartment but hey. We got a great deal and didn't have to fuss with the lights.

From a young age, I have loved the song, I want a hippopotamus for christmas. Last Year my mom bought me this cute little guy. I had him sitting under the tree, but in a stroke of genius, JT sat him in the tree and put out our nativity under the tree instead.

Here are the lyrics-

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
Don't want a doll, no dinky Tinker Toy
I want a hippopotamus to play with and enjoy

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won't have to use our dirty chimney flue
Just bring him through the front door, that's the easy thing to do

I can see me now on Christmas morning, creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise when I open up my eyes
To see a hippo hero standing there

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles, no rhinoceroses
I only like hippopotamuses
And hippopotamuses like me too

Mom says the hippo would eat me up, but then
Teacher says a hippo is a vegeterian

There's lots of room for him in our two-car garage
I'd feed him there and wash him there and give him his massage
I can see me now on Christmas morning, creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise when I open up my eyes
To see a hippo hero standing there

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles or rhinoceroseses
I only like hippopotamuseses
And hippopotamuses like me too!

There are tons of videos for this song on youtube if you wanna check it out!
I just love it!

I've been reading The Kingdom and The Crown Series by Gerald Lund. And it has caused me to ponder and think about my Savior. I heard a song today that had a great message. Christ was given to the world as a gift of love from our Father in Heaven. And what an amazing gift!! No one could have done what Christ did for us. I've also been pondering the symbolism is his names. The Lamb of God, Councilor, Prince of Peace, Messiah, Emmanuel and Savior. I am awestruck by all that he is. I love him and am eternally grateful for him and the gifts he gives, that no one else could. Merry Christmas to all of you, and may we all remember the reason for our season.
